How to brighten your days (Positive Affirmations)

I feel quite desperate since I started feeling that I am entirely back to reality. Christmas and New Year’s Day break helped me to still enjoy the vividness of life after the long trip but once I realised the fact that I have to live the 9 to 5 life from now on, I don’t feel quite right. As per one of my New Year’s resolutions, I have written my first week affirmations start with ‘I AM POSITIVE’ on the paper and put it on the wall where I can see clearly, and tried to read out whenever I see the paper. However, the hard-core of reality constantly shakes my mood up and down.

It sounds bit blue, doesn’t it? Don’t worry. I cannot let myself down and stay negative because ‘I AM POSITIVE’. As one of my most favourite spiritual leaders , Dalai Lama said ‘ Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your actions’. I choose to be responsible for my days and my happiness. Therefore, I have prepared my second week 5 affirmations to reinstate my mindset.

I still remember my husband’s facial expression when I pulled out my first week affirmation papers from the bag. He didn’t say anything but his face clearly said ‘What The H……!!!!’. I put 3 copies of the affirmation paper on the wall in the house. One next to the mirror which we can’t miss in the morning, the other one on the bathroom door that we need to stare at while sitting on the toilet and the last one on the kitchen pantry where there are always some sweets hidden…  I roughly explained him about main purpose of my decision on practicing affirmations and asked him to join me. Surprisingly, he has started reading them out with me. I am still not sure that if he gets my true intention or if he reads them out when he is alone but nothing is really matter to me as he looks like he enjoys doing it, and it made us laugh together.

I don’t think affirmations will bring you instant luck or change your life spontaneously but I truly believe that what you think and how you think can change your attitudes towards to your life. Positive affirmations will affect the way of thinking and positive way of thinking will improve your way of approaching/dealing with difficulties, problems and worries. Eventually, your positive attitudes can transform your life. So, I am going to keep practicing positive affirmations as I promised myself and share with you how they influence on my mind, behaviours and life.

These are my second week affirmations and I am totally happy to share them with you (use them if you want).

WEEK 2. AFFIRMATIONS

I AM A HAPPY PERSON.

I CAN CONTROL ANYTHING THAT COMES MY WAY.

MY LIFE IS FULL OF JOY AND HAPPINESS.

I TRUST MYSELF AND MY DECISIONS.

I AM OPEN AND RECEPTIVE.

Having goals are so powerful. Being focused on what you want to achieve and taking an action to reach the goals offer gigantic energy and pleasure. Each time I read my affirmations, I feel my days are brightened and energized. I am conscious on importance of each day and I promise myself to make it the best. Only one week practice has already changed my attitude towards to my days that I used to treat very ordinary (nothing special) and easily neglect the value. I am very pleased that I have decided practicing affirmations as a new year resolution and I wish you can share the joy with me. It REALLY works!
